  • About me
  • First started racing at the age of 11 with my Tamiya Manta Ray at Bessacarr church hall. Through my 6 year period of racing I changed cars to a Schumacher Boss Cat and then to a Schumacher Cat 2000 all of which were 4wd buggies. I then finally moved into 2wd and acquired a Losi XX. I raced at a number of clubs like Bassettlaw Center at Worksop, Rawmarsh, Tibshelf, Barnsley Metro Dome, Skegness and Doncaster Dome to name a few. I Finally packed up racing at the age of 17 and all my gear went up into the loft until 2006 which is when I joined you guys and enjoy every minute.

  • About me
  • I started racing at a local club in 1991 (I think) no particular rules on cars I started with my treasured Tamiya Blackfoot if I recall!! Moved onto an Nikko Dandy dash (showing my age now). I then had a break from racing until 2000 when I joined Batley buggy club and started with my first touring car which was a Schumacher Axis. I then moved on the Rothwell touring car club which later became Garforth (GTCC). I moved on from my Axis to an XRAY T1 (The first release with the free setup system!). From then I went onto an Associated TC3 factory team, then a TC4 factory team, XRAY T2 007 and now I am loving racing at Donny with an XRAY T2 009. It is amazing how the technology has moved on since starting touring car racing. Nicad to Nimh and now Lipo, Belt to shaft then back to belt drive!, Brushed to brushless and now 2.4Ghz radios whatever next! Hope to see you soon as Donny touring car club, cheers Big Dave!

  • About me
  • I first started with rc cars as a very small child when my grandad bought me a yellow tamiya lunchbox. I just drove this on my drive at home and this was the start to my love of rc cars. I then moved on to having a Tamiya fighter buggy when I was a little older and could control the cars properly. At the age of about 10 I then got my first and proper RC car, a Team associated t4, I still own this car and I still use this whenever I have the time. I then got into touring car racing about 2 year ago with my Xray t1, this was a very good and reliable car to get me going but I then changed to my Xray t2 008 because I needed a newer car. I still come to the club because there is a good bunch of people that will help you out if you have issues and they will still give you a good race on the track. I have now changed to a xray t3 and has changed my driving for the better!! Come to the club and give it a go!!

  • Started with RC buggies in the early eighties. Raced national circuit with Tamiya Rough Riders, AYK's and then hybrids. Also raced in the first series of 1/10th Formula 1 RC and became the first national champ!.....just shows what age can do to skill! Had too many years off from racing, back now just with more enthusiasm than skill these days but still good fun.

  • About me
  • I started to be interested in racing when I took my son to race at Danum school, on Leger Way . Then I thought, this is too good just to sit and watch, so got him a new car, and started to race with his old tamiya ta02 .+ a hitec wheel radio  set, and have never looked back .This sport gave my son a interest in electronics. He is now a electronic engineer & have r/c racing- dtcc to thank for this.

  • About me
  • I started racing about 5/6 years ago with the Tamiya tt-01 which was a Christmas present, I had it for about 3 years. I then bought an fk05 from Chris Swallow who had won the league with it the season before, it is a great car and only changed parts I broke! The setup stayed the same. I had this for the same length of time but decided i needed a newer car and now have the Serpent S400.

  • About me
  • I first got involved in RC cars when my two lads were only young, we started with Sandscorchers and a Ford Ranger which we went onto race at Batley.  I didn't much like getting dirty so tried the indoor racing, which I found much better and thats where I have been ever since.  The first race cars were tamiya's and I then moved on to GM's, HPI Pro 2, Pro 3 and then moved on to Xray's, then back to tamiya (BIG MISTAKE!!), then onto Serpent S400 which is one of the best cars I have ever driven but due to Serpent deciding to no longer manufacturing the car I have now moved onto to the Xray T3 which is my current car. I raced this car for the first time on friday night's race meet and as I said to James 'this is the best thing since sliced bread!'  If anyone is interested in racing please do not hesitate to come and join us and see what its all about.

  • I started my racing career at DTCC at the age of 11 and have been coming ever since, although now I rarely get chance to attend due to being at university. I use a HB Cyclone powered by a Core-RC Lipo, Nosram speed controller and Speed Passion brushless motor, while the steering servo and radio gear are from KO Propo (with Spektrum modules). The atmosphere at the club is like no other I've been to and this is why I keep coming back as much as I can!

  • About me
  • I started with RC cars in 1983 with a Tamiya Sand Scorcher, which i still have! I then went on to buy a Tamiya Wild One about 3 years later (which i still have also) and used to race with a friend of mine on Tesco's car park in Edenthorpe on a Sunday morning (before the days of Sunday opening) My RC stuff then got packed away in the loft for a number of years coming out every now and again for a quick run. I got back into the hobby about 1998 when i bought a Tamiya TL01 Impeza and brought it to race at Danum School finishing in the B final. The TL01 was soon disposed of and a Schmacher SST replaced it as my first proper touring car. Since then I have had a Yokomo YR4 M2 Pro, Tamiya Evo 3, Xray T1R and T1M (remember Lightning McQeen anybody?) And now race a Xray T2'008.
DTCC is a great club, have seen lots of people come and go over the years, and lots of changes and different methods of trying to acheive the ultimate goal of 1st in the A Final.

  • About me
  • Well... I expect I should support the club by (A) becoming a member next week (hopefully) and (B) writing a profile. errms....let me think..

I raced many years ago as a young lad at Barnetby with my old GM TC4 (does anybody remember that car it was mint?) but quit to concentrate on golf and being a full time teenager… I was going to get back into racing a few years back, but being at university, I just did not have the time. Well…I am really enjoying racing at Doncaster Touring Car Club and when I'm not studying for my MA in Cultural Studies or playing Golf, I am thinking about how I can improve my driving, car, and ultimately my lap times. Racing RC cars is fun! Keep up the good work Doncaster Touring Car club. Last meeting I went lipo (I could not believe the improvement in power and usability.. lets hope it does not blow up in my face hehe) ….next time I hope to have a new motor as I think my rotor has become bent slightly…

I recommend anybody who is interested in racing to come down and give it a go!!

  • About us
  • First car was a sand scorcher which I just bashed around with, got into racing at Doncaster with Brad using a Tamiya TT01 were he won all of his heats and his final. So not to be outdone I started racing again, Brad with the Tamiya TA04 Pro and me with the standard Tamiya TAO4 then we both raced Tamiya TA05'S. After a couple of years we moved onto the Tamiya TRF cars which we still use today. I would really recomend coming to Doncaster, We've made a lot of good friends and really enjoy racing here.

  • About me
  • I moved to Doncaster from Reading in 2002. I owned a HPI RS4 rally car and a friend told me about the club. I came along with Graham Doel and enjoyed it so much that we both went out and bought a touring car. My first was a schumacher Mission but since i have owned many different cars as i get bored easily. My newest is a Tamiya 416x which i am building at the moment. DTCC is the friendliest club i have attended, which is the reason i keep coming back.

  • About me
  • Started racing about 6 years ago, Donny was my first club I went to and it has turned out that its probably the best one. I started out with a Tamiya TL01 but soon realised the car wasnt built to race around tight indoor tracks so I bought a Schumacher mission and the racing bug began, buying many a car and equipment. I stopped coming for almost 2 years but I've come back this season and enjoying racing again.

  • I started racing at Donny just over two years ago after hearing about it from a neighbour.

I used to have RC cars as a kid, Tamiya Rough Rider, Marui Ninja & a PB Mini Mustang (which I bought from Ian Biddleston 20 plus years ago & is still in the loft at my parents house).

I enjoy racing at Donny & try to get over to Stocksbridge on Sunday mornings.

  • About me
  • Started racing when I was 12 with an old hobao hyper 10 but had to give it up as the club shut down in April 2010. Decided I wanted to start again so bought a Losi XXXS and came to Doncaster and loved it but soon realised the Losi was not very competitive so bought my Xray. It's a good car and enjoy racing at Doncaster, everyone is very helpful and friendly.

  • About me
  • My first ever car was a Tamiya grasshopper 2 back in 1995 I think. After bashing that and another Tamiya monster truck I thought it might be a good laugh to go racing. I started way back in 2001 with my HPI Sport 2...what a machine! It feels like a very very long time ago now. I slowly made my way up through the finals and down through my parents bank balance with new cars and ever more exotic gear. I stopped racing for a few years in mid 2006 while I went to Uni, but that's all done and dusted now so off back to donny it is. It really is a bug this R/C business! I'm a bit rusty from so many years away but if anyone ever needs any track side help then just give me a shout.

  • About me
  • Hola! Now, where do i start. Ive been racing since around 2003 when i first came to a meet at doncaster with a friend and was immediatley hooked! Got myself a HPI sprint for xmas and attended the first meet after xmas in January. Since then ive entered the Junior nationals at 16. Further through the years i entered the BIWS and after passing my driving test at 17 travelled around the country attending club meets and events. After i qualified at college in 2008 my racing dropped off after getting a job at a aircraft maintenance company demanding long hours and silly shift patterns. Now fortunatly my shift patterns are a little more relaxed and ive picked the sticks back up. I love the social side, the laffs, the racing and a hobby thats just a little bit more than racing toy cars!
I owe it all to Doncaster touring car club for giving me the bug and eating my wallet!

See you at the next meet!
